What does 'powered by Olympia Conceptual' mean?
Olympia Conceptual is the full-service investigative company
that
produces Lighthouse pre-employment background screening report. As a
regulated full-service agency, Olympia is able to put ample resources
into its background checks.
What does 'FCRA compliant' mean?
It means that all of our background checks comply with the
Fair
Credit Reporting Act, the the federal law that governs background
screening. It means that our forms have boxes that allow applicants to
see their own reports, depending on the state they live in. It means
that our criminal record searches report seven years of court cases
(but unlimited convictions). Basically, it means that we do our checks
right, which gives you better results and limits your liability
exposure.
How does this process work?
First, see if we're the right company for you. Then send us
a
contact form. We'll get in touch with you within 48 hours and design a
program specifically for your company. Then you'll fill out an
application form (here). Once we get it, we review it -- and
that
generally takes a couple business days -- we send out a credentialing
guy (or girl). They'll come to see where you store your completed
background checks and to make sure you're a legitimate business. If you
pass, then we set you up with our accounts, all the forms you need and
user names for our online interface. If you're using our I-9 service,
it takes about another week to get up and running, due to DHS
documentation requirements.
What are the startup costs?
Zero. Nada. Zilch. We believe in the long dime over the
short
nickel, and we don't think we should charge you to do business with us.
The only exception is if you use our I-9 service, in which case we
charge a one-time $40 fee, again, due to DHS documentation requirements.
What are your prices?
Generally, our background screening packages start around
$40 and
go up from there, depending on what you add in. Searches of additional
counties or additional names, specialized databases and drug screening,
for example, will increase the cost. We also offer volume discounts.

We average 24-48 hours on most domestic backgrouns
screenings. Our
I-9 products give you the option of instant or non-instant results.
