What do I need to provide in order for you to
screen an applicant?
FCRA requires a signed consent form. We provide those here.
Depending on your level of comfort, we can provide links so that your
potential employee can put all their information into our system, and
you'll be notified when it's there. Or you can put in their
information. Regardless, once the information is there and you click
"Submit" we go to work for you.
Can't I do this using free services on the Internet?
Sure. If you know the ins and outs of databases and the Fair
Credit Reporting Act. But if you don't, you could end up in serious
trouble. Know when you have to send a pre-adverse action letter? We do
(and our system generates them for you, if needed).
Do you offer instant criminal database searches?
Yes, we do. But we don't really endorse them for
pre-employment
screening. They tend to only pick up felonies and there's no such thing
as a truly "nationwide" search. That's why all of our background
screening packages include hand checks of court records -- no matter
what county in the country.
What if my prospective hire has an adverse hit?
FCRA dictates that you generate a pre-adverse action letter,
informing the potential employee that something appears on their
screening report that could count against them. You can generate that
letter -- complete with the correct name, address and other information
-- directly from our online interface. And if you do deny hiring as a
result of something found in the report, you can generate an adverse
action letter right from our interface.
